The Forest Service has requested public comments on the newly proposed Forest Planning Rule, but they have only allowed 60 days for public comment. That is not enough time for the public to comment. Please click the link below to request an extension.
The new Forest Plan Rule will apparently shift from multiple use management of your Forests to focus more on closing roads and trails or what they refer to as "restoration". According to the Forest Service press release "the Forest Service has identified a set of potential principles that could guide development of a new planning rule. Among these principles are an emphasis on restoration, conservation, and the improved resilience of ecosystems; watershed health; climate change response; species diversity and wildlife habitat; sustainable National Forest System lands; proactive collaboration; and working across landscapes."
Please take Two Minutes to send the Forest Service a letter asking for an 120-180 day extension. Click the below link to send your letter.
